Ideas for Juicers and Blender Purchases

We have spent a lot of time this month focusing on juices and smoothies.  Hopefully, you have tried some of our recipes and are enjoying the health benefits.  As you become more consistent about juicing and making smoothies, it may be time to consider choosing some new equipment.

Earlier in the month we described the main differences between juicers and blenders.  A quick review: juicers extract juice and nutrients from the fruits and veggies you use, leaving behind the fibrous pulp as waste.  When juicing you need to use produce with a high water content, which can be somewhat limiting.  Blenders, on the other hand, allow you to use just about any type of produce, and you end up with a beverage that includes all of the nutrients, fiber, and pulp.

There are pros and cons for both juicers and smoothie machines, and only you can determine which one will best meet your needs.  If you can afford it, it might make sense to have both, so you can really mix things up with your fruits and veggies.  Whatever you decide to do, make creating healthy drinks a regular part of your routine, and make sure to try new things as you go.  As they say, “Variety is the spice of life!”

Next time we will celebrate a very special holiday: National Hammock Day! So dig yours out of the closet and get ready to swing!
